Arjan Kochar’s ‘26 Capstone Project Selected for GOA Catalyst Exhibition

During the spring semester, St. Luke’s freshman Arjan Kochar participated in the Cybersecurity I course through St. Luke’s partnership with the Global Online Academy — a pioneer of innovative teaching and learning models. At the conclusion of the semester, Kochar’s GOA teacher nominated his capstone project Can Artificial Intelligence (AI) be Integrated into Malware? for the Catalyst Exhibition Showcase. More than 850 projects from students around the world were nominated by their teachers, and only 38 were selected, one being Kochar’s.

“Arjan’s presentation opened with an engaging, beautiful question and his response was carefully researched, detailed, and compelling,” said Douglas Beam, GOA’s Associate Director of Member School Engagement. “As I watched the video and explored the slide deck, I was particularly impressed with the clarity of his presentation. Arjan presented a complex topic in a visually-appealing way that made it understandable for the audience. Arjan’s project has great potential for making an impact.”

Cybersecurity teacher Carmen Taylor was impressed by Arjan’s work. “Your work is detail-oriented and thoughtful and shows real understanding,” she told him. “I'm delighted you were in my class this year, and I expect wonderful things from you in college! Take care, and I hope that you'll consider a career related to computers in the future; you've got a talent for this!”
